Actually @Swen_in_ca my Christmas to myself is a bow and a crossbow

I have been wanting to learn, and have a hall in the basement already ready for when the weather outside is frightful :biggrin:

Since I already have 2 recurves I am actually going to skip that other takedown even if it's much better than mine. I saw a YouTube video on the Spectra survival bow.

Kind of expensive for what you get but it actually fits what I'm looking for. it is ugly and bare bones, just what i'm looking for. Plus in the long run it's $60 cheaper than a second takedown recurve. Of course I wouldn't let my old bow hunting buddies see me shooting it. But I'm looking for compact storage and effectiveness not beauty and power. Of course I am leery since one review said that it is over rated on the draw weight.

The you tube video did mention that you have to make sure you string it on the right side and you may have to make the notches for the string bigger.

Well I got my survival bow. Guess my son gets the Martin takedown recurve.

I finally got around to getting a string for my old Ben Pearson takedown recurve. We used it in a couple of our family Thanksgiving survivor challenges.

I traded a wheel gun holster and some speedloaders for more than a dozen or so good straight arrows and a few broadheads two years ago.

Considering that I picked up the bow for helping a customer manage his moving sale, I have about $6 in postage and $10 for the string in the entire setup.
